Electronic voting via the Internet offers advantages not only for the Swiss abroad. Since the turn of the millennium, pilot projects and broad-based trials of e-voting have been running, and the government and cantons should now clearly commit to it – and fully establish e-voting as a third, complementary voting channel alongside the ballot box and postal voting.
