March 2024: With emineo playing a key role in planning and implementation, the canton of Lucerne successfully launched SAP4YOU.
After 18 months of preparation, the time had come in mid-February: the canton of Lucerne successfully launched SAP4YOU. With the introduction of S/4HANA, the canton has taken the first step towards the digital transformation of its SAP system landscape. From planning to implementation, emineo was centrally involved in the realisation of this major project.
One and a half years ago, the canton of Lucerne launched an ambitious endeavour: All existing SAP systems were to be replaced by a more modern system landscape and the existing business processes were to be transformed. emineo helped kick-start the project by supporting the canton of Lucerne in planning the overall roadmap for the digital transformation and also implementing large parts of it itself. With the launch of S/4HANA, the “first flight” has now been successfully completed. The next goals are to finalise the ongoing processes for the introduction of BW/4 and H4S4.
emineo has completed around for the canton of Lucerne:
Increased user-friendliness was a key concern of all those involved from the outset. By provisioning the Fiori Launchpad via SAP BTP as a workzone, all employees now have access to SAP’s most intuitive and modern user interface. With the other solutions, emineo also focussed on the needs of the employees and their day-to-day tasks as well as the current technical feasibility. The new authorisation and role concept is based on the current areas of activity of the canton’s employees and thus creates a more efficient environment for everyone.
It also no longer matters whether an application is processed via S/4HANA, BW/4 or the SAC – employees log into the workzone via single sign-on and find all the necessary information and applications centrally in one user interface.
Remarkable simplifications were also made to the interfaces in the backend. This improved the stability of the processed substantially and reduced maintenance work at the same time. With foresight, emineo and the canton of Lucerne designed the entire system in such a way that a switch to SAP’s RISE model is possible. This ensured that the system landscape remains flexible for future adaptations and that nothing stands in the way of future developments. The Canton of Lucerne’s system is now equipped and ready for the future.
SAP4YOU was realised jointly with the canton’s internal SAP CC employees and other partner companies. The collaboration with clear areas of responsibility and the direct exchange with those responsible at the Canton of Lucerne enabled a targeted, efficient implementation. The project was put into action completely agile in accordance with SAFe.
emineo’s focus was primarily on the technical work packages, the realisation of integration scenarios, UX design and, finally, innovation and performance management. Our advice was also required for the implementation of SAP BTP & Workzone. The collaboration will continue in the context of operational support.
Everyone involved worked together right from the start and gave their full effort to help SAP4YOU get off to a successful start. As a result, the project was realised on time, within budget and with high quality.
